5V Series Cast Iron Double-Groove QD Sheaves for “5V” Belts

5V series double-groove QD (quick detachable) bushed sheaves are manufactured for 5V, 5VX, banded 5V, and banded 5VX belts. They range from 4.40″ to 28.00″ in diameter. Depending on the sheave size, they are made to use an SH, SDS, SK, SF, or E QD bushing, which we also stock. Most of our double-groove 5V QD sheaves are manufactured from a high-strength grade 35 cast iron, are phosphate-coated, and are painted for anti-corrosion. All of them are balanced at the factory for smooth machinery operation.

Classic 5V-Series V-Belts have a 0.63″ top-width, 0.53″ thickness, and a 38° angle. Additionally, 5V V-belts are 1 of the oldest styles of V-Belts in the industry. What Factors Should Be Considered When Choosing a V-belt Pulley?

V-belt pulleys are usually made from cast iron (GG) and steel. If required for specific applications, it is also possible to manufacture these components from aluminum, stainless steel, or plastic material. There is also the option of supplying V-belt pulleys with an additional surface treatment if the ambient conditions require this of the drive. Furthermore, V-belt pulleys can be manufactured to customer specifications. Our turning shop can machine standard pulleys based on drawings or customer wishes.

A V-belt drive can have multiple belts running in parallel. Therefore, v belt pulleys are available not only with different diameters but also with various grooves. On request, the pulleys can be supplied with quality class Q 6.3 dynamic balancing. Pulleys with a diameter of more than 125 mm are statically balanced. Dynamic balancing is recommended where the rotational speed is over 30 m/s or the diameter/width ratio is below 4 in combination with a rotational speed of over 20 m/s.
